LT was finally released by the Chargers, and now every media member can say they predicted this would happen, even if they were a year late. Seeing how he played this year, it's no surprise. Norv Turner tried to keep him on the team by playing him as much as he did in the playoffs. If he came up big and won them a couple games, he would probably still be on the team. Since he stunk it up, he's looking for a new team. It's about time, he's not selling Bolts tickets anymore anyway.
When he goes to a new team, they should look at the tape of LT sulking on the bench every big playoff game that he spent time on the bench. He needs to realize his place as a backup now if he does want to go to a contender as rumored. If he wants the paycheck and a chance to start, expect him to go to a team like the Texans or Lions. The only team he can really say he's going for a ring is if he goes to the Colts or Patriots. There is too much uncertainty between years in the NFL to go to a team like the Vikings or the Saints and expect to be in the NFC Championship game.
Rumored new teams for LT:
Redskins - Portis is in a similar situation as LT, getting old, getting hurt. They aren't grabbing LT.
Eagles - Same situation as the Redskins, but LT could go there for a league minimum type salary to play on a playoff team behind LeSean McCoy, but the Eagles would be better off with a goal-line back like LenDale White, who would cost a mid round draft pick.
Texans - This is a good chance to happen, the Texans love looking at big name RBs who are kicked off their old team (signed Ahman Green, seriously pursued Larry Johnson).
Colts - Would sign him if he took a huge pay cut, not sure that the Colts would want his ego/attitute, they don't usually sign players like LT. The Colts need to do something for their horrible rushing attack though.
Patriots - I see this as likely as the Texans, but the Patriots won't touch him before the draft shakes out. Also, he would have to take a big pay cut. The Patriots need a young RB and a veteran RB. It really depends on if they want to bring Fred Taylor back. If they do, LT won't have a spot on this team. He could be the Kevin Faulk of the offense and provide an upgrade at that role.
