The Italian Football League

The Italian Soccer league is a series of matches played between various football clubs in Italy. They are all interconnected league matches among the various football clubs in Italy. The club that is at the top is Lega Calcio or the Lega Nazionale Professionisti. This club is divided into sections Serie A and Serie B

The Second club in the ranking is Lega Pro; it rules first division and second division. The former has two parallel divisions and the latter has three parallel divisions.

The next in the ranking is called Serie D, this is a league which is formed by nine parallel divisions and the clubs are divided according to their geographical location.

The first Italian League came into being because of English emigrants in the year 1891. When the leagues began they were separate for Italians and for foreigners. Gradually they merged.

The final move to give a single league structure to Italian League began in the year 1929.

Since World War II the teams that have dominated Italian Soccer are Juventus, A.C Milan, and Internazionale.

The league system began in the year 1978, when the semi-professionals ceased to exist.

In the same year the Lega Pro became a totally professional league and Italy was the first nation to have two distinct professional leagues.

To understand what is the Italian Football league, one has to know what the league system is, it is a hierarchy of leagues which means a team can be raised to a position or pushed behind depending on what position they finish at and the playoffs. The structure is referred to as the pyramid because most of the regional divisions are at the bottom rung.

Footballitaliano was launched in the summer 2008. It is the most comprehensive website covering Italian League with latest news, results, stats, interactivity, live score, goals and highlights. The passion of Italian Football league flows out on the pages of this site and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do! Forza Football!

National Football League: Say No to Thugs! Part One

"What the heck is going on out there???" the Great Man would say if he were here today commenting on the numerous incidents of National Football League players getting arrested--for all sort of crimes, from DUI, to physical violence to weapons charges. It's really depressing when you look at the National Football League headlines on Web sites like ESPN.com and most of what you find involves reports of players getting in trouble with the law. Sports are supposed to be a pleasant diversion from the ugliness we see in the international news headlines, or the forecasts for the real estate market.

The bright new NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, obviously wants to solve this problem, and he seems to be trying to get the message across that thug-like behavior won't be tolerated. But the question is, are the players listening? Clearly, he has a tough task ahead.

Several sportswriters have observed that in reality, all that matters in professional sports is winning, and if you are a talented enough player to help your team win, it doesn't matter what kind of citizen you are. The teams are willing to give the players any number of second, third or fourth chances, much more than an employee of a company in the "real world" would be allowed. Many corporations, in fact, don't allow second chances whatsoever.

Maybe Mr. Goodell needs a catchy slogan that could be run in advertisements, to remind the owners and coaches (and fans) that integrity in professional sports should be as important as winning. How about:

SAY NO TO THUGS!

One big city newspaper took a look at the incidence of NFL players being arrested and compared it to that of the general population--and found the numbers very similar, almost as though the problem has been blown out of proportion. This is fuzzy logic at best, because National Football League players are not part of the "general population." The correct peer group to compare them to would be:

--Pampered millionaire celebrities who only have to work a few months per year.

And among this group, football players have had a higher incidence of running afoul of the law in the last several years, even if we count every single encounter Paris Hilton has had with the police, and give Mel Gibson double penalty points because of the foul-mouthed things he said to the police officer who arrested him in Malibu.

It's time the fans let the league know that they want them to get rid of the players who can't behave like decent citizens.

SAY NO TO THUGS!

Top 5 Major League Baseball Parks - Wonderful Places You Should Visit

Most people often think baseball stadiums are just venues for sporting events, but it is wrong. They are also stunning works of architecture and a definite must-visit for baseball fans. If you happen to be a baseball fan, here are the top five major league baseball parks that you should definitely visit.

Yankee Stadium

The historic old Yankees stadium was torn down after the 2008 season. It was first used in April 18, 1923 for a game versus the. Aside from baseball, the old stadium was also used for other sporting events such as boxing and football. One memorable boxing match was the heavyweight title bout between Joe Louis and Germany's Max Schmeling held on June 22, 1938. The old Yankee Stadium is also the venue of Knute Rockney's famous "win one for the Gipper" pep talk. His Notre Dame Fighting Irish would go on to beat the Army Cadets 12 - 6.

Fenway Park

Opened on April 20, 1912, This historic stadium saw a lot of baseball legends, including Babe Ruth, Cy Young and Jimmy Collins. Did you know that Fenway Park is the second home of the Boston Red Sox? In 1901, the Boston Pilgrims first played ball at the Huntington Grounds. This is now a part of the Northeastern University campus. Nothing was changed at Fenway Park until May 8, 1926, when a fire gutted the bleachers along the left line. Fenway Park is still home to the only ladder in play in major league baseball. Tours run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. everyday until three hours prior to a game. It costs $12 for adults.

Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field was built in 1914 and it is the second-oldest stadium after Fenway Park. Wrigley Field was originally known as Weeghman Park. It was built on the grounds that were once occupied by a seminary. Wrigley Field has a seating capacity of 41, 160 and features vines that were originally planted in 1937. Tour tickets cost $25 each. Wrigley Field also offers group discounts.

Dodger Stadium

Sitting on 300 acres on a hill overlooking the city of Los Angeles, this stadium is known as the Chavez Ravine. It opened in 1962 and cost $300 million to build. It also regarded as a classical pitcher's park. There were no drinking fountains when the stadium was first built. It is repainted every-off season. You can see palm trees beyond the fence down the foul lines. Dodger Stadium boasts that it is the cleanest stadium in the MLB.

Busch Stadium

Before a new Busch Stadium was built, the old Busch Stadium remained home to the St. Louis Cardinals until 2005. It was built in 1966 and made of concrete and featured a two-deck facility. About half of the stadium's seats could be found in each deck. In one year, the Stadium sells 540,000 hot dogs, 181,000 pounds of nacho chips and 32,000 gallons of nacho cheese.

Now that you know all about these stadiums, they are really wonderful places for baseball fans. Just image how excited you will be wearing your favorite to take photos there.

Win Your League With NFL Sunday Ticket

If you work at an office filled with sports buffs, then you probably have a fantasy football league going on. All offices are different, but most will have either some element of picking different NFL teams to win each week, or a more traditional fantasy league format where you will be picking individual players from the different teams in order to field a team that will score points based on how the different individual players perform each week. Whichever format your office chooses, make sure to stay ahead of the game by having NFL Sunday Ticket at home, which will allow you to watch the most games, do the most research, and win your league.

If you are playing in a league where you need to make predictions as to who will win each week, then you want to focus your attention on the games between two mediocre teams. Most players are focusing on the games where the teams are well known, or the local teams. The statistic that will make or break your season is the games where two teams are playing at an average level. Most players will ignore those games, or just pick the home team. If you do your research then you will know which team has an edge. Watching the commentary from the experts delivered to you in HD will put you one step ahead of the competition.

Likewise, NFL Sunday Ticket is a good investment for folks whose office plays in a league whose format is a classical fantasy team style. In this case you will be able to listen to the latest injury updates and figure out who to start. If you are looking to win your league then you need to be really quick to act on picking up and dropping players in the middle of the season. If you have done your draft right, then you will start the year with a strong and balanced team. Unfortunately, as every football fan knows, over the course of the season your stars will start to get injured and you will need to have a backup plan. To grab the right player you need to make sure that you know who is available and when to grab them.

Ultimately, there is nothing that is better than winning the office pool. Being able to beat your boss and brag to your co-workers certainly livens things up around the office water cooler. In order to make sure that you are the winner, and not your annoying cubicle neighbor, you need to make sure that you have all of the right inputs for making your decision. Watching as many games as possible in high definition is the best way to make sure that you know what is going on.

Fortunately, this is not hard to get. Getting high quality HD games streamed directly to your home is easier and more affordable than ever. Acting today you can most certainly have the games that you need in time for Sunday.

The English Premiership, The Best Football League In The World

nfl playoff

The English Premiership football league has just commenced a new season and already football fans from all over the world have been treated to a feast of exciting games. There really is no comparison in the quality of this division compared to other leagues from around the world, the premiership truly is the best.

Just looking at the Italian premier is a good example, this country boasts some of the top footballers from around the world but the games are just so boring to watch. Channel four from the UK used to air a match every week on a Sunday from this league but it has now been taken off our screens due to a lack of viewers, that says it all.

Just last season, on the final game of the Italian league, one particular team were having to win their last home game to avoid being relegated. The problem they had was the fact that they were playing the champions, Inter Milan. This would normally be a virtually guaranteed away win but for some reason the bookmakers were offering nine to one on a Milan victory. These odds looked very generous but very few people put money on Milan to win. It was no surprise to hear that Milan had lost the game by two goals to nil, that is the Italian league for you!

Boring is something you could not describe the majority of games from the English premier league, a better description would be fast and furious. Even the most ardent of Liverpool supporters would agree that you can not beat watching Manchester United when they are in full flight, players like Giggs, Ronaldo and Rooney are just exceptional talents.

I actually support Birmingham City, this is a team that will be happy to avoid relegation this season as they have just been promoted from the championship.

I would advise any football supporter from around the world to regularly watch the matches from the English premiership as you will not be disappointed.

National Football League: Say No to Thugs! Part Two

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When a mom and dad notice their kids are turning into porky little chowbuckets, they often try to substitute healthier foods for all the Twinkies, cookies and potato chips the kids are tossing down their throats. Similarly, let's see where National Football League players get in trouble and recommend alternative, wholesome activities and entertainment for them.

1) Strip clubs. NFL players seem inexorably drawn to these establishments. The attraction is, of course, the varied and exotic creatures you see on display there. And in some strip clubs, they let you observe these creatures up close and personal. In others, you are asked to keep your distance, for safety reasons--yours and hers.

Substitute activity: visiting your local Zoo. Same attraction, actually: interesting animals, exotic habitat. But infinitely more educational, and the municipal Zoo has a much higher class of clientele for you to socialize with. I can't recall a single incident of a celebrity athlete being arrested at the Zoo. Once or twice, a Zoo visitor might get bitten, but that can obviously happen at strip clubs, too.

Substitute activity 2: take up ballroom dancing. Why just watch others dance around the stage, or the pole, when you can sashay across the floor yourself? And an National Football League player's athletic ability gives him a leg up, so to speak, on the other people taking dancing lessons with him. Just look at how proficient Emmitt Smith became on Dancing with the Stars. Though he's still no John O'Hurley.

2) Fights and other altercations in bars. Recently, even a Green Bay Packer, if you can believe it, got into trouble for allegedly pushing or shoving a female late one night in a drinking establishment. The alleged shover was starting linebacker Nick Barnett. (To be honest, I was not aware that shoving was considered a crime, especially after the times I have ridden the subway in New York.)

An unfortunate offshoot of this incident is now Green Bay Packer fans have to listen to the taunts of the Viking fans: "Dude, that was the best tackle Barnett made all year!"

The reason so many athletes have unpleasant experiences in bars is simple: excessive alcohol consumption reduces normally intelligent individuals to a level of thinking just below moronic, and aggressive tendencies that would normally be repressed, from fans and players alike, suddenly emerge. Small-minded people who are envious of the money and fame that accrues to pro athletes sometimes deliberately try to provoke the athlete into an argument. Provoking a National Football League player, who is paid to be aggressive, is never a wise choice. But as with NFL games when the Ref only notices the second person who threw the punch, the athlete often pays the price for a drunken fan's outburst.

Substitute activity: Learn how to cook. Becoming a skilled chef is a lot of fun, and allows you to entertain your friends at your home, and avoid the bar scene and its associated unpleasant situations altogether. You will have to go out to shop for groceries, but fans you may encounter are unlikely to become belligerent in the produce aisle. For the football player who is single, the grocery store can be an excellent venue to meet eligible females, who will be impressed that you know how to use ingredients like radicchio and broccoli rabe.

Substitute activity 2: watch Political Debates. Take out these aggressive tendencies by yelling at the TV when a politician says something particularly idiotic. Since both major political parties are chock full of nuts these days, the opportunity to vent your frustrations is nearly limitless. You may never feel the need to visit a drinking establishment again.

Or, if you listen to enough political drivel, maybe you will.
