NFL Draft Spotlight by Team - #16 Pick by the Tennessee Titans

#16 - Tennessee Titans - Sergio Kindle - Texas

The Titans big move of the off season was losing Kyle Vander Bosch to the Detroit Lions. Now the team needs another pass rusher, and Sergio Kindle can help immediately. The team signed CB Tye Hill to a one-year deal, which should eliminate the chance of drafting a CB in the first round. The team needs to take a CB sometime in the draft, but 1st round is not a must. It seems like Tennessee can always use a WR, which they still can, but it's too early to take Demaryius Thomas from Georgia Tech. The WRs played good enough last year, but they seem to be like the Giants, a good group, but no clear #1. No receiver had 50 receptions, but if Kenny Britt can improve to an elite #1 receiver, this team could get dangerous quick. Super Bowl teams need that true #1 receiver, but the Titans need to worry about getting in the playoffs first.

Sergio Kindle is a pass rushing LB who doesn't seem like he will be able to do much else. For that reason, he may only see the field in passing situations. The AFC South has two great QBs with Peyton Manning and Matt Schaub, and the Titans need to get more sacks out of their defense (no player had 6 sacks on the team in 2009). That's not the worst thing for a rookie, but he needs to learn and develop other skills to be a full time starter. People are starting to whisper about players from UT developing in the NFL, Kindle will try to prove UT's critics wrong.
